BNE Miss Boni Blue
2003 Blue Roan AQHA Mare

SOLD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HEADING TO MONTANA
Blue is an absolutely gorgeous blue roan mare. She is one of our highest Foundation Quarter Horses (she is 96.09375% FQHA registered) and definately portrays the bulldoggy build. She's put together really well, nice conformation, a very people friendly personality, and great muscling. Big shoulder, huge hip, nice forearm...just overall built extremely well! Blue stands 14.3 hands.
Blue was started under saddle late summer 2007. She had 60 days put on her with a trainer, so she is only green broke. She was being ridden in a round pen, outdoor arena, and lots of trails. Here is a little about how she was to ride in 2007: She is a nice ride and never offered to buck or rear. She is a timid/nervous when being ridden out by herself, but never reacted dangerously. She will walk off nicely, great trot and lope, excellent whoa, and backs very nicely. She was ridden a lot out on the trails. She will walk over wood bridges/planks, tree branches, etc.
June 2010 Blue was saddled and ridden for the first time since she came home from training (see "UPDATE June 6, 2010" below for more info). Otherwise, Blue has not been worked with much other than regular vet, farrier, and de-worming. She will need a refresher/tune up to get going regularly under saddle again, but she had that 60 days solid foundation put on her in '07, she just needs more miles put on her and to be finished out.
UPDATE JUNE 6, 2010
My daughter (21 yrs old) and son (18 yrs old) saddled Blue up today (6/6/10) for the first time since she came home from the trainer a little over 2 1/2 years ago. She stood perfectly to be saddled and cinched up. Meghan (daughter) got on, and Blue also handled that extremely well. The worst thing I can say that she did through the whole session was raise her head a little and widen her eyes...aside from that she stood calmly and there was no arguement or dangerous actions at all from her during anything- no biting, no rearing, no bucking, no hopping...nothing. She just took everything is stride! :-) David (son) took some pictures of Blue...scroll down below her pedigree to see them.
Blue is not a hot or mean horse horse, but she can be timid/nervous in new surroundings or with new people. She needs a more experienced rider/handler. She would not be suitable for a child or beginner. I think she will make somebody a great riding partner with some more miles under saddle, and/or breed her and produce beautiful foundation bred babies!
Blue has not had any foals yet, but we think she will be an excellent producer.
Blue has been coat color tested:
Red/Black: Ee
Agouti: aa
Cream: N *this has not been tested, however we know she cannot carry a cream gene, as neither of her parents do
Dun: N *this has not been tested, however we know she cannot carry a dun gene, as neither of her parents do

The pictures below were taken 6-6-10 First saddling and rider up top in a little over 2 1/2 years (since she came home from the trainer)...she did GREAT! You'll have the excuse the "extra horse" in the pictures...Blue's pasture buddy (Lacey) was being nosey and had to see what was going on. :-)
