PQH News
5/04/08 Generally this time of year, we look through our herd and see if we would like to cut back or sell any mares that don't quite fit in. However, this year...all of the mares that we have are exactly what we want. Also, we usually don't raise a horse's price. But, we have decided to raise the price of PQH Jacs Quixote (Squirt). He is now listed for sale at $8000. After re-evaluating him now, as a yearling, he is just to nice of a colt to be listed at a low(er) price. He is built wonderfully, has excellent conformation, an unbelievably calm disposition, and has a proven performance pedigree top and bottom. Squirt's sire, Holidoc, is an NCHA money earner and is bred to work cattle. And Squirt's dam, Jacs Tin Lizzy, is reining bred. Although Squirt is a yearling and still intact...there isn't an ounce of the stereotypical stud colt behavior in him. 4/29/08 We'd like you to check out the following ranches. Wild Dreamz Quarter Horses/WLC Ventures is the place to go for your next cutting or working cow horse prospect. And, if you are looking for your next reiner, check out Scott McCutcheon Reining Horses. We have also gotten several pictures and updates from the Timmons at Timmons Cambria Bottom Ranch. They bought Thunder Gun Pizazz ('03 perlino stallion) and Ima Hollywood Idol ('04 chestnut mare) from us as foals/weanlings. Gunnar has a new baby- he sired a beautiful buckskin colt this year. And his baby from last year, a palomino filly, is looking wonderful! Meghan is planning a trip to visit the Timmons in Oklahoma in June. Here are some pictures that they sent us... Gunnar...

4/20/08 New pictures of Holidoc San taken this afternoon. Click here to view them. 4/12/08 Our weather is still cold and lightly snowing on and off today. But I snapped a couple of pictures of Holidoc San this afternoon. Please click here to view them. 4/11/08 The weather can't make up its mind if it wants to be nice or not. We get a couple days of nice weather and then we get a day or two of rain/snow, or right now we are currently getting rain/sleet. But it is supposed to warm back up again during/after this weekend. We've been starting to watch the mares for heat and so far, we've only caught PQH Pawnees Mocha (Mocha) and BNE Miss Boni Blue (Blue) showing heat. But, the one we need to be watching is Jacs Tin Lizzy (Lizzy). She will be the only mare to be bred this year. Lizzy will be bred to Holidoc again, in hopes of getting a filly! We are very pleased with the cross, her '07 colt sired by Holidoc is just phenomenal...but we'd like a filly to keep. :-) We will be breeding Holidoc San to a few of our own mares in 2009. We plan on breeding him to BNE Miss Boni Blue, Peponitas Black Lace, PQH Pawnees Mocha, and possibly Jacs Tin Lizzy. And I say possibly Lizzy, because if she happens to have another colt by Holidoc, we will re-breed her to him...in another attempt for a filly. But if Lizzy throws a filly next year with Holidoc, she will be bred to Holidoc San as well. 3/23/08 New pictures of Squirt were taken today. Click here to see them. 3/10/08 We are finally getting some nicer weather this week. Temps should be in the mid to high 30's...yay! :) We were able to take Pretty Boy's blanket off due to it being so nice, and get some new pictures of him. Please click here to see them. 2/28/08 We received the results from UC Davis for Holidoc San's coat color testing today. And, he is homozygous black! That is definately some icing on the cake! :) PQH Jacs Quixote "aka Squirt" has been moved to the stallions page, he is still for sale, please call for details as we want to make sure he gets into the right home, he is very special to me :) 2/20/08 Looking for an easier way to feed your horse(s)? Take a look at this automatic hay feeder (available with grain attachment). Click here for more information on the Hay DeLay feeder. |
