Sales Policy
We acknowledge any known conformation and personality flaws, illness, previous training, habits, etc. up front. All of our horses are handled daily. All foals are imprinted at birth and have maximum turnout but still have human contact. We do not sell any horse that is not halter broke. We do not start a horse under saddle prior to 2 years old, and even then we’ll only do a few light rides.
Expect us to ask you some questions about your experience with horses, what kind of horse you are looking for, etc. We do this to make sure that you are getting the right horse for your needs and to make sure the horse we are selling is going to a good home.
If interested in buying a foal that has not yet been weaned, we will require at least 1/3 down to hold/reserve the foal until weaning time. Horse must be paid in full to be considered sold. A refund is not given on any horse if a buyer backs out of the sale. A full refund may be given, depending on each situation and what buyer and seller have agreed upon, to a horse that has failed a pre-purchase exam or has been severely injured or dies prior to ready date. After the ready date, the buyer will assume full responsibility for any injury, death, etc.
Horse must be paid in full at least 1 week prior to ready date, or horse will not leave Pretty Quarter Horses’ possession. If the horse is not paid for in full and picked up within 2 weeks of ready the deposit is forfeited and the purchase will be voided. If the horse has been paid for in full, but is not picked up within 2 weeks of the ready date additional charges will be applied. Those charges must also be paid for prior to the horse leaving Pretty Quarter Horses’ possession. Foals are generally weaned around 5 months of age and are usually ready for their new homes in 14 days, buyer pays for coggins and health [if required]. AQHA registration papers, AQHA transfer papers, a halter, one 50 pound bag of grain, a bale or two of hay, and a bill of sale. Any mares advertised in-foal are not sold with a live foal guarantee, the foal is considered a bonus.
Buyer's are more than welcome to purchase (at their own cost) a pre-purchase exam. We open all veterinarian records for you as a buyer to see, and we can also provide a list of people that have previously bought horses from us, that you may contact with questions, etc. Pretty Quarter Horses will send in the AQHA Transfer papers.
We have a new video camera (DVD). If you would like a video of a horse for sale, please contact us. We would appreciate serious inquiries only, as we put a lot of time into any videos we make.
